Building Month

Building Month

Welcome to the Building Safety Month Resource Center

This year's theme is: No Code. No Confidence.

BSM 2019

During May, the Building Department will celebrate Building Safety Month.

A display will be set-up in the lobby of Township Hall
throughout the month of May with handouts and educational materials for the public.

Why is Building Safety Month important?
Building Safety Month provides education for the public about solutions that improve the safety, sustainability and resiliency of buildings, infrastructure and communities. Properly administered and up-to-date safety codes reduce loss of life and property damage.
Contemporary planning, building materials, design and construction can make our communities more resilient to weatherization and natural disasters. Founded by the International Code council (ICC), building Safety Month unites industries, associations, academia and government under a common goal to protect the public by creating a safe and resilient built environment.

The website Safe, Strong Home provides homeowners with education and guidance about protecting and preparing their homes for natural disasters, along with information and resources about building a safer, stronger deck.
