Northville Township Millage Renewal on the August 4 Ballot

The current Northville Township millage is set to expire at the end of this year. Residents will be asked to consider a millage renewal on the August 4 ballot.

This proposal represents a renewal of an existing millage, not a new or additional tax.

What does the millage fund?

If approved, the millage would continue funding operations for existing Township services, including:

  • Police
  • Fire
  • Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
  • Parks & Recreation
  • Senior Services
  • Youth Network

Public safety services—Police, Fire and EMS—represent the largest portion of the proposed funding.

Proposed Millage Details

  • Term: 8 years
  • Rate: 7.2054 mills (2025 rollback rate)
  • Estimated Cost: Approximately $7.21 per $1,000 of taxable value

How Funds Would Be Allocated

  • Public Safety: 6.3447 mills
  • Parks, Senior & Youth Services: 0.7452 mills
  • General Operating: 0.1155 mills

Understanding Millages

A mill represents $1 of tax for every $1,000 of a property’s taxable value.
