Solar Panel Check List – Effective January 1, 2025

1. Building/Compliance permit application filled out.
2. $25 check application fee plus $50 Plan Review fee made out to Northville Township. We also require all electrical permit fees at time of application.
3. Valid Builders License and Electrical License
4. Signed contract between homeowner and contractor with cost of renovation.
5. Two sets of sealed plans (no larger than 24” x 36”). Plans must be stamped and sealed by an electrical engineer.
6. A structural engineers report on the trusses that the solar panels will be installed to.
7. Electrical Permit Application: Electrical Permit must be turned in at the same time as the Building/Compliance permit application with check made out to Northville Township.
8. $500 refundable bond is charged on all permits

NOTE - It is the responsibility of the applicant to comply with any and all HOA requirements

NOTE - The building/zoning permit application and above documents will be reviewed by our staff. Once approved, permit fees and a refundable bond will be invoiced to the contractor/homeowner.  After fees are paid, the building department will issue the permit, stamped approved plans and work can begin.
