We are proud to announce the appointment of two new School Resource Officers, filling vacancies created by the completion of Officer Michael Brown’s four-year assignment and the promotion of Officer Robert McFadden to patrol sergeant.

SRO Megan Roy is assigned to Northville High School for the next four years, and SRO Emily Key is the new officer for Northville Township middle schools for the next three years. Both officers have been enrolled in a number of training opportunities this summer to help them be successful in their new positions, including basic and advanced National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) and School Violence courses as well as ALICE training. NASRO is the gold standard for school-based law enforcement training, dedicated to providing the highest quality of training to school-based law enforcement officers to promote safer schools and safer children.

This marks the third position SRO Roy has had since joining the Township in November 2019. She initially joined as a Public Safety Officer in Dispatch, handling 911 calls, while enrolled in the Wayne County Regional Police Academy. After graduation in May 2022, she was sworn in as Police Officer.

SRO Key joined Northville Township Police Department in November 2022 after serving in Westland. She first began there as a Police service aid and after graduating from the Washtenaw Community College Police Academy in 2021, she fulfilled a dream of becoming an officer.

Please join us in supporting them in their new roles and thanking officers Mike Brown and Robert McFadden for their past service.
