Being a firefighter continously changes.

The fire service today is far more than just fighting fires and responding to medical incidents. We are an all-hazards emergency response agency responsible to be prepared for and to respond to emergencies of all shapes and sizes.

COVID-19 was the newest wrinkle for our department. It completely changed the way we operate, the way we prepare, the way we live, and the way we respond. However, over the last 20 years we have continued to adapt to the needs of the community to continue to "provide the highest level of fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to those who live, work, and play within our community." Being a firefighter today requires you to learn, train, and prepare to perform life saving actions on the fireground, during emergency medical incidents, responding to and mitigating hazardous materials incidents, conducting water and ice rescue, during confined space and rope rescue emergencies, and even during active shooter or hostile events.NTFD Many Hats
