TITLE: Summer Day Camp Head Counselor

STATUS: Non-exempt, seasonal position, 30-40 hours/week, May/June through mid-August, Monday-Friday.

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Recreation Specialist/Day Camp Coordinator or their designee, the employee in this position directly oversees day camp counselors and administers all aspects of a safe, fun, exciting, and educational experience for children in a day camp setting at Maybury State Park or the Recreation Center at Hillside. There will be no camp the week of the Fourth of July.

REQUIREMENTS:

EXERIENCE: Preferred 1-2 years' experience in teaching, coaching, or supervising children/staff in a group setting. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to and from the work sites. Certification of Basic First Aid and Adult & Child CPR with optional AED. If not already certified the classes will be offered as part of our training.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma

COMPENSATION: Starting rate: $17/hour
