Title: School Crossing Guard

Location/Time: Winchester Elementary School – 8:15 to 8:45 am and 3:40 to 4:10 pm (full day)

Reports to: Director of Public Safety

Salary/Pay Rate: $21.58/day

Summary of Duties:

1. Provides safe crossing of school children/pedestrians.

2. Observes and directs pedestrian or vehicular traffic.

3. Exercises good judgement and maintains emotional control in emergencies.

4. Must be able to properly display and use safety vest and hand-held stop sign in such a manner that they are visible to motorists.

5. Exhibits positive image as a representative of the township.

6. Bending, lifting and overhead work required.

Qualifications:

1. Be a citizen of the United States, or a resident alien with the right to work in the United States.

2. Be 18 years of age or older.

3. Have a high school diploma or a valid equivalency certificate.

4. Sense of responsibility for the safety of children

5. Extremely dependable.

6. Have acceptable hearing and visual acuity.
