 The
Department of Public Services includes the Water and Sewer Department,
the Building Department, solid waste collection and ordinance
enforcement. The department consists of 26 full and part-time
staff, including two professional engineers.
The Water and Sewer Department is responsible for
the water distribution system and the sanitary sewer collection
system. The department is responsible for maintaining water
mains, sewers, pump stations and reservoirs and planning for system
improvements to service new customers. They also service
individual accounts with water metering and billing.

Township's New Water Tank
Wins National Award
Northville Township's new million gallon water tank has been
honored by theSteel Tank Institute and Steel Plate Fabricators
Association as the elevated "Steel Tank of the Year". Annually
tank fabricators nominate projects for this national award and the
manufacturer, Chicago Bridge and Iron Company, nominated the
Northville Township tank in this year's competition. The tank was
selected, in part, due to its setting in the Community Park and
its graphic design. The engineer for the tank was Stantec
Consulting and the graphic was designed by Cross Communications.
